Hi
Thanks for query to H C M .
You are having 4 cm ovarian cyst , this is confirmed by sonogram.
Scanty bleeding , irregular menstruation , heavy menstruation , all are characteristic feature of ovarian beside other symptoms.
Whenever such patient visit I advise my patient to take ORAL CONTRACEPTIVE .
Cysts are often caused by hormone imbalance or changes.Using birth control pills can sometime help regulate hormone levels so that the cysts can be taken care of.
After sometime ( after few course of medicine) your treating doctor will likely want you to come back after you have been on oral contraceptive to see if the cyst is gone.
At that your doctor may suggest you stop oral contraceptive or , if indicated you may need to continue to for a little bit longer .
So in my opinion consult your treating doctor and discuss about this treatment as I mentioned .
Hope this information will be useful for you.
Further , is any question I will reply happily.
Good luck.
